Greece has perfect geographical position and that is why since ancient times it has been the most important advantage of the country. Greece is located in the middle of Mediterranean Sea, between Asia and Italy, close to Egypt, Libya and other Balkan countries. Greece is bordered with Albania, the Former Republic of Macedonia, Bulgaria and Turkey. Total area of Greek peninsular is 132 sq.km.   The country's abundant natural landscape is presented with thousands of indented coasts, imposing rocky massifs, caves, gorges, lakes, rivers, biotopes of spectacular beauty and unique natural habitats- coupled with the mild climate.

Greece consists of a mountainous peninsular mainland jutting out into the sea at the southern end of the Balkans, the Peloponnesus peninsula (separated from the mainland by the canal of the Isthmus of Corinth), and numerous islands. The biggest Greek islands are: Crete, Euboea, Lesbos, Chios, the Dodecanese and the Cycladic groups of the Aegean Sea as well as the Ionian Sea islands. Four fifths of Greece consists of mountains and hills, making the country one of the most mountainous in Europe. Western Greece contains a number of lakes and wetlands and it is dominated by the Pindus mountain range. The most famous mountains are: Olympus- is the highest mountain point in Greece; Parnitha- is the mountain range; Pelion mountains and Ochi mountains situated on the southern part of Euboea Island.
