Ground plots, residential and commercial real estate in Greece can buy not only a resident of the country but also any foreigner. According to statistics more than 3000 foreigners become owners of ground plots, exclusive villas and houses in Greece. Residents and foreigners have the same laws while concluding a contract.

Only real estate that is situated on the so called "frontier zone" can be sold to foreigners. The territory is considered to be "frontier zone" that is close to Turkish border and Albanian border (including Khalkidhiki peninsula). A special paper is required from the Ministry of Defense so as to buy real estate on the "frontier zone".
