Geographical position of Greece is unique. Country is situated on the edge of the West and the East connecting Europe, Asia and Africa. The constitution of Greece recognizes the Greek Orthodox faith as the "prevailing" religion of the country, while guaranteeing freedom of religious belief for all. The majority of Greek citizens (97%) identify themselves as Greek Orthodox, and most of them celebrate at least the main religious feasts, especially Pascha (Greek Orthodox Easter).The only minority in Greece that has a special recognized legal status is the Muslim minority - 1.3 %. The most favorite holiday among Greek people is Pascha. The last week of Fasting is called Megali Evdomada. Greeks visit church more often during this week.
