Geographical position of Greece is unique. Country is situated on the edge of the West and the East connecting Europe, Asia and Africa. Greece doesn't have land frontiers with European Union countries. Greece borders with Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Turkey. Greece is washed by Ionic Sea, Aegean Sea, Cretan Sea and Libyan Sea.

Total area of the country is 132 thousand sq.m. There are nearly 4000 islands in Greece and 1500 of them are inhabited. More than 4/5 of the territory of Greece occupies mountains and highlands. The highest mountain in Greece is Olympus (2917 m). Greece is reach in different kinds of trees and bushes especially on the North of the country, Peloponnese, Rhodes and Zakinthos islands. Sea line length in Greece is 4000 km.

Since 1981 Greece is the member of the European Union and the member of the Economic and Monetary Union of the European Union since 2001. National currency of Greece is Euro since 2002.  Ancient drachma (340, 75= 1 Euro )was exchanged by Euro.

The constitution of Greece recognizes the Greek Orthodox faith as the "prevailing" religion of the country, while guaranteeing freedom of religious belief for all. The majority of Greek citizens (97%) identify themselves as Greek Orthodox, and most of them celebrate at least the main religious feasts, especially Pascha (Greek Orthodox Easter).The only minority in Greece that has a special recognized legal status is the Muslim minority - 1.3 %. The most favorite holiday among Greek people is Pascha. The last week of Fasting is called Megali Evdomada. Greeks visit church more often during this week.
